Treherne, Claude William
Captain Claude William Treherne, R.A.M.C. died of wounds on August 12th, aged 29. He was the son of Surgeon-General Sir Francis Treherne, K,C,M,G,, and was educated at St. Thomas's Hospital, taking the diplomas of M.R.C.S. and L.R.C.P.Lond. in 1912. After acting as senior obstetric house-physician at St. Thomas's, and as house-surgeon of the West London Hospital, he served as one of the medical officers of the British Red Cross Society in the Balkan war of 1912-13. He took a commission as lieutenant in the Special Reserve of the R.A.M.C. on August 21st, 1914, and was promoted to captain after a year's service. British Medical Journal 25 August 1917
