Bransbury, Vernon Dudley Bramsdon
Bransbury,Vernon Dudley Bramsdon, Lieut., 3rd (Reserve) attd. 1st (10th) Foot Battn. The Lincolnshire Regt., son of Henry Bransbury of Holme Chase, Putney; b. Southsea, co, Hants 1883; educ. privately, and Clifton College; was gazetted 2nd Lieut, 3rd Lincolnshire Regt. in June, 1913, and promoted Lieut. 13 March 1914, served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders, attached to the 1st Battn. and was killed in action at Neuve Chapelle 25th Oct.1914; while endeavouring to locate a machine gun which had been firing on his trench. He married in Feb. 1908. Zoila Kathleen Mary, daughter of Dr. Ponsonby Widdup, late Medical Service British Guiana, and had two sons, Stuart Ponsonby Bramsdon, born May, 1910, and John Brian born June, 1913.
