Notes | Died of wounds 17th May 1917, aged 28. Cadet Sidney Tremeer was promoted to a 2/Lt on the 5th August 1916 and arrived with the battalion on the 17th September 1916, along with his fellow Officer cadet Herbert Merchant who was killed just ten days later. Sidney was wounded at Cherisy on the 3rd May and died from his wounds two whole weeks later whilst in Le Treport general hospital on the coast. He was the son of Charles George and Eleanor Agnes Tremeer of Chiswick in London and is buried in the Mont Huon Military Cemetery, Le Treport. www.bedfordregiment.org.uk |
