Rivington, Peter Sherwood
Former Bristol Journalist: “ The Evening World” regrets to announce that Pilot Officer Peter Sherwood Rivington, aged 23, eldest son of the late Mr. Gordon S. Rivington, of 40 Lawrence-grove, Henleaze, has been killed in action while flying with the R.A.F.
Educated at Dover College and King’ s College, London he was for several months previous to the outbreak of war employed on the editorial staff of the Bristol “ Evening World”
At the outbreak of war he enlisted in the British Army and was transferred to the R.A.F. in February 1941.
He won both his British and American wings, and at the time of his death was flying with a Mustang fighter squadron. Bristol Evening World. 02.09.1942
