Martin, Deryck John Michael
Flight-Sergeant Martin. Former Hay Hill Minister’ s killed. The only son of a former Minister of Hay Hill Baptist Church Flight-Sergt Derek J. M. Martin R.A.F., has ben reported killed. He was 24 years old.
His father the Rev. Arthur Martin, was for five years a minister at Hay Hill Baptist Church.
They left the city in 1928 and went to Wisbech, and Derek went to King’ s College, London, to study research chemistry. He then took his B.Sc. at Bristol University, and joined the R.A.F. immediately afterwards.
Mr. Martin, with his wife and two daughters, lives at Maidenhead where he holds a ministry. He is also a chaplain to the R.A.F. Bath Chronicle & Herald, 22nd October 1943.
