Ladyman, John Charles Harrison
J.C.H. Ladyman was known to very few in the College as he was but few weeks amongst us. He entered the College at the commencement of the Session, 1914-15, but in October, 1914, enlisted as a private in the 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. He was killed in action at Hulluch, on October 13th last; for many weeks scheduled among the "missing" news has now come to hand which leaves no doubt of the fate which has overtaken him.
Born at Norwich, in 1877, Mr. Ladyman lived and worked for twenty-one years in the parish of Walthamstow. There he was known and loved by many, particularly by the boys of the parish. He laboured among them in their gymnasium, and in their Boy Scout Patrol without ceasing, until with this Great War came a call to a still higher duty. Never sparing himself he has now made the greatest sacrifice of all. King's College Review, June 1916
