His name disappeared from the Army List after January 1942, and it was noted that the name I. R. Hyde was given in the Air Force List as having obtained a commission as Pilot Officer R.A.F.V.R. in December, 1941. Therefore, it seems likely that Ian Robertson Hyde transferred from the Army to the Air Force, but I have no confirmation of this.” |
