Letter from his mother dated 13 Feb. 1951. “My son Richard Jack Dunford was a student at King’s College, Strand at the time he was called to the Forces. He lost his life in an accident through the gales on the night of 6-7 April, 1943 at Invergordon, Scotland. His rank was Flying Officer and was on a Sunderland Flying Boat when he lost his life.”
