Blackman, Wilfred Ernest Arthur
Lieut. Wilfred Ernest Arthur Blackman was at King's for three years completing his course just before the outbreak of war. In September, 1914, he enlisted in the London Scottish, and went to France only two months later. After seeing ten months active service, he was wounded in September, 1915, and was invalided to England. In 1916, he was granted a commission, and being gazetted to the Machine Gun Corps, he went out to France in January, 1917. He rose to the rank of Captain, and was mentioned in the Field-Marshal's despatches in 1918. He returned to England on 2nd October last, and after a very brief illness died from double pneumonia.
