Atkinson, Thomas Geoffrey
Death of P/O Atkinson on Active Service: Pilot Officer Geoffrey Atkinson who died in hospital while serving with the Central Mediterranean Forces was the only son of Mr. and Mrs G. W. Atkinson of Edenfield, Littlebourne Road, Canterbury. Educated at Kent College he matriculated at the age of fourteen and entered King’ s College, London, where in 1943 he passed with honours the final of the B.Sc. Engineering examination. Joining the R.A.F.V.R. in August 1943, he was quickly commissioned and last July proceeded to North Africa and later to Italy. Kentish Observer 07.09.1944
