Palmer, Ambrose Henry
Surgeon-Major Ambrose Henry Palmer, R.A.M.C. (T.F.), died at Cairo on May 2nd of wounds received on April 17th, aged 47. He was the eldest son of Dr. Palmer, of Barton-under-Needwood, Burton-on-Trent, and was educated at Birmingham Medical School and at Guy's Hospital. After taking the diplomas of M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. Lond., and L.S.A. in 1895 he went into practice at Barton-under-Needwood, where he was Medical Officer and Public Vaccinator of Barton District, Surgeon to the Barton Cottage Hospital, and Surgeon to the Post Office. He joined the Staffordshire Yeomanry on December 24th 1904, became Surgeon-Captain on June 24th, 1908, and was promoted to Surgeon-Major last year. Guy's Hospital Reports Vol.LXX, War Memorial Number
