Oates, Joshua Laurence
Oates, Joshua Lawrence was educated at Grahamstown, South Africa and after passing the Cape Matric., entered Guy's as a Dental Student in May, 1911. He obtained the Pupils' Scholarship in Dental Mechanics in 1913, and joined the Public Schools Battalion of the Royal Naval Division early in 1915. He was killed in France in 1918. (CWGC gives 1916).
