Berncastle, Herbert Frederick G.
It was with great regret we have to announce the death of yet another Guy's man. Herbert Frederick Berncastle who very recently died at his home from pneumonia.
It will appear especially sad that it was only in January of this year that he was married to Miss Marian Gray, as her friends then knew her.
Berncastle was the son of the late Richard Berncastle F.C.S. He was educated at St.Paul's, where his abilities were highly judged, and entered Guy's in 1912. He won distinction in Biology at the 1st London M.B. examination and passed the 1st and 2nd Conjoint exams. On the outbreak of war Berncastle immediately volunteered for service, and after a short period in the Inns of Court O.T.C. he was gazetted to the Bedfordshire regiment and went to France.
