Paid quarterly at 100pa from January 1864, monthly at 100pa from January 1872 increased to 125 in January 1878 until December 1894. Except for a clerk he was lowest paid of staff recorded in salaries books in 1891 to 1894. Was paid an Allowance of 80 pa until his death in 1906. In 1886 he wrote to Secretary concerning a legal dispute he had had about a commission fee for finding a partner for 2 ex King's College London doctors.

Lived in Wolverhampton, London and Watford. Possibly also lived in India where some of his siblings were born and where his parents and 2 brothers died.
