15th January 1890 and 26th June 1895 requests to move to Highgate or Hampstead but refused by Hospital Committee as secretary must live in the immediate vicinity of hospital. Telephone installed in 1890, Salary increased by 100 in 1895 to compensate. 30th June1898 stipend increased by 5 per month. 20th July 1899 committee agrees to allow application for post as Chaplain of Lincoln’s Inn Fields providing duties at Hopsital not impaired.
