This volume of cartoons, Souvenirs Du Siege de Paris, was collected by Edwin Child who was trapped in Paris during the siege of the city in the Franco-Prussian War.
He volunteered for the Garde Nationale de la Seine, Nov 1870 - Feb 1871 and returned to England after the lifting of the siege in 1871.Ā
