The caption on the reverse, written by Lt Aubrey Lees, reads: "The [Ily] bridge over the Diyala river at Quraghau, showing the middle pier sunk and slightly leaning, the result of this year's abnormal floods. With the disabling of this bridge ally [Ily] traffic from Bagdad to the East of the Tigris to stations N. of the Diyala has been stopped. (On my journey from Kirkuk to Khauiqin)".
