This fifth part of the 'birth of the tank' sequence is taken from the papers of John Frederick Charles Fuller (1878-1966) - specifically Fuller 1/1, a bound typescript volume of reports, memoranda, correspondence, diagrams and drawings relating to the early history of the tank and its deployment in World War One.
Fuller was assigned to the Heavy Branch (Tank Corps) in 1916, and was instrumental in planning the tank attack at Cambrai in 1917 and tank operations in 1918. The reports here relate to logistics, deployment and tactics.
