The Falkland Islands Magazine is one of four journals in the FCDO Historical Collection about the Falkland Islands.
The others are:
Falkland Islands weekly news. Vol. 3, no. 26 (June 26th 1946) - vol. 5, no. 52 (24 December 1948); This periodical is typescript and includes advertisements, including classified advertisements, children’s stories, public notices and short articles of interest to residents. The publication also features hand drawn illustrations.
Falkland Islands monthly review. No. 1 (December 1958) - no. 101 (May1967), includes a special issue for the visit of the Rt. Hon. The Lord Chalfont's visit to the Falkland Islands 23 to 28 November 1968. Its coverage focuses on "People & Events : Notes & Records : Sport". It is also typescript from no. 49, (4 January 1963). The articles are mainly about social clubs and activities, but also include more serious topics such as the lack of roads, meterological information, the cost of living, and politics. The last of the four is the more common and scholarly Falkland Islands Journal (1967-1969; 1971-1988), "An independent non-government publication" which began in 1967 and includes historical articles about the Falkland Islands.
