XRchiving.London
A single-day event on heritage and locations-based immersive technology was hosted at historic King’s College London on Saturday, 15 October 2022. The inspiration was the quickening pace of innovation that we see in the “knowledge-based” sectors of the economy: media; scientific and AI research; and our universities sector with its focus on digital humanities.
XRchiving.London featured:
- Presentations on the role of data in cultural place-making and the role of urban design and architecture in promoting social impact;
- Panel discussions on the nature of the digital Public Realm and its growth potential; and
- World-first showcases of two London-based Augmented Reality heritage projects as prototypes for the Digital City.
The potential for the evolution of digital place-making is limited only by our imagination. The impacts for tourism, urban regeneration, education, and the future of the UK economy will be enormous.
