Shakespeare Tercentenary, 1916
Israel Gollancz, by Dorothy Ellen Parker, 1919-1921Professor Israel Gollancz organised commemoration events for the Tercentenary of Shakespeare’s death in 1916.
In 1914 a Tercentenary Committee was formed at King’s to plan the events.
Gollancz also oversaw the publication of An Homage to Shakespeare, which featured memorial pieces by contributors from all over the world, including Gollancz himself.
