Dinners

Photograph of officers at a dining table laid out in the open air with attendants standing on the sideBreakfast on the march

Food was the fuel of Empire, as is apparent from the variety of menus, invitations and photographs of clubs, societies, reunions and diplomatic functions from collections held in the Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives.

Fine dinners naturally offered opportunities for colourful display in dishes on offer.
