O’Connor was captured in 1941 and imprisoned in Castle Vincigliata, Italy.
This illustration is from his official report to the War Office giving an account of his attempts to escape captivity.
While O’Connor supports hisaccount with photographs, he also includes accurate illustrations which incorporate details such as sentry outposts and annotations.
