Episode 6 - Nocturne
Constantin Silvestri: Avant-gardist, Master improviser, Homme passionné.
A series of seven films presented by The London Schubert Players and produced in London by Anda Anastasescu Gritten and Nicolas Gaster. Dedicated to the George Enescu International Festival 2021.
Episode 6 - NOCTURNE
Introduction by Anda Anastasescu
The strange, hypnotic music of the Nocturne in Piano Suite No. 3 transcends despair and resignation in the poignant ‘musical confession’ of the young composer with dreamy eyes, but with the soul ravaged by life’s turbulences (Mihail Jora). Thirty years later, an emotional event takes place in Winchester Cathedral in England. We also hear Silvestri‘s opinion on modern music and on Beethoven.
