Episode 3 — THE LITTLE SHEPHERD
Introduction by Anda Anastasescu
The solitary and precocious nine-year-old child discovers the handsome city of Targu Mures in the heart of Transylvania, where he will live for seven years with his mother and stepfather. Here he benefits from excellent music studies which will guarantee him entry with flying colours at the Bucharest Conservatoire. I perform excerpts from his piano suite Children’s Games No. 2 - dedicated to the 10 year old boy Prince Michael, the future King Michael of Romania. So much imagination, colour and maturity - where is the inspiration coming from?
