Front cover image from 'Victory in Africa' [1943] (Ref: Embleton 2/3/25)Front cover image from 'Victory in Africa' [1943]'Victory in Africa' discusses the successful campaigns in Africa by the British against the Italians, French and Japanese with the King’s African Rifles.

The King’s African Rifles were an ethnically diverse multi battalion which comprised soldiers from the region in East Africa under British colonial control.

This pamphlet seeks to highlight the gains made abroad by the Allied forces and demonstrates that the Second World War extended beyond the realm of Europe.

By placing the conflict in Europe in an African context, victory in Africa meant victory against fascism which was considered a global threat.
