'A daughter of the Empire': Beryl White In India 1901-03

Weddings

Wedding in 1902Wedding in 1902Beryl White and her parents were guests at society weddings, notably between Evelyn Pugh and Captain Thomas Sellar in St Paul's Cathedral in Calcutta in February 1902.

Beryl was a bridesmaid at the grand ceremony, which also featured a compliment of the Calcutta Light Horse.

One newspaper report described that 'All Calcutta Society thronged the Cathedral to witness as bright a wedding and to see as charming a bride as have ever entered its portals'.
