Born in [1906] into farming family; educated at Berkhamstead School; joined Wiltshire Regt, Territorial Army, 1924; studied agriculture at Reading University, 1924-1925, and in Argentina, 1936-1937; served with Wiltshire Regt in UK, 1939-1943, and India and Burma,1943-1945; died in 1982.

Photocopy made by the Centre in 1986 from original loaned by the family.

Photocopy of 'Farmer-soldier', a typescript memoir covering his life and career, [1905]-1945, notably his training with the Territorial Army, 1924-1939, and his service with the Wiltshire Regt in the UK, 1939-1943, and India and Burma, 1943-1945, written in 1945.
