Administrative / Biographical history

Victoria Elizabeth Jones was born in 1837. She trained in nursing at Charing Cross Hospital and St John's House. In 1879, she was appointed Sister of Philip ward, Guy's Hospital. She was appointed Matron in 1882, resigning in 1893.

Archival history

Donated to Guy's Hospital Medical School Library, Jun 1991, by Lady Dorothy Gilbertson, granddaughter of Mary Beatrice Harding, who trained at Guy's in the 1880s.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

Transferred from Guy's Hospital Medical School Library in 2002.
