GENERAL INFORMATION 19 The Centre also provides advice and support for Computer Assisted Learning applications Support and assistance is available for members of the College who wish to use the facilities of external Computer Centres in particular the University of London Computer Centre which operates an Amdahl 470 VB and Cray IS Access to external Centres is possible from any of the three main College sites COLLEGE ARCHIVES College Archivist Miss Patricia Methven Strand campus The College Archives offer secure and confidential storage for records of the College which are of enduring interest Staff of the archives will provide guidance about the selection of material suitable for permanent preservation and will make arrangements for the disposal of confidential waste paper Room 302 Strand extension 2187 COLLEGE MAP ROOM College Map Curator Dr Andrew Tatham Strand campus The College Map Room contains large collection of maps and atlases which although having an emphasis on Britain and Western Europe provides topographical geological and other thematic cover of all parts of the world In addition there is collection of aerial photographs including particularly important cover of the Caribbean The College Map Room also contains good selection of books and periodicals on cartography and allied subjects All members of the College are entitled to use the College Map Room which is on the Ground Floor of the Chesham Building and the College Map Curator Strand extension 2599 is available to advise on all aspects of the use of maps and aerial photographs It should be noted that the collection is maintained as reference resource and loans are not normally permitted although there are number of multiple-copy sets for teaching and field-work and the College Map Room has sufficient study space for the convenient use of even the largest maps in the stock AUDIO-VISUAL SERVICES An audio-visual and reprographic service is available on each campus Details of precisely what can be provided can be obtained from the individual site managers
