18 GENERAL INFORMATION Strand campus Education and Welfare Officer Trading and Services Officer Ian Markham Diana Emerson Kensington campus Education and Welfare Officer Trading and Services Officer Duane Passman Jonathon Walford Chelsea campus Education and Welfare Officer Trading and Services Officer Michael Conolly Michael McLaughlin There are in addition Union Administrators on each campus Marie-Ann Kyne-Lilley Financial Administrator Strand Ian Smith Trading and Services Administrator Kensington and Beryl Urquhart Union General Administrator Chelsea Facilities offered on these sites include bars food services games photocopying services and student shops In addition the Union has at Mitcham and Petersham three well-equipped sports grounds further six-acre ground is situated at Dog Kennel Hill close to the School of Medicine and Dentistry The Union issues various newsletters and bulletins to its members and throughout term holds regular General meetings where students can express their views Numerous social events and activities are organised throughout the year on all the sites These range from regular discos to traditional balls Computer Services Manager Dr Andrew Byerley Chelsea campus The Computer Centre has facilities on each of the three main sites The Strand campus supports VAX 11 785 and DEC 20 system as well as several support processors The Kensington campus supports VAX 11 750 while the Chelsea campus operates linked Harris 100 Harris 500 system and Perkin Elmer 3205 Each of these systems has wide range of software available and supports terminal access on the campus concerned but access to all sites is possible through high speed data communications links The Strand site also contains the Humanities Computing Laboratory which offers specialised equipment such as Kurzweil Optical Character Reader and all three sites offer range of computer graphics facilities In addition to its mainframe systems the Centre offers comprehensive microcomputer microprocessor support service giving advice and assistance to microcomputer users and also where appropriate designing and constructing special purpose systems of all kinds to meet particular needs COMPUTER SERVICES
