90 General Information Rogate Field Centre Warden Risley field station has been developed at Rogate near Petersfield Hants the facilities are shared by the Departments of Botany Civil Engin- eering Geography Geology and Zoology and the centre offers oppor- tunities for field studies in these subjects both in undergraduate teaching and for research College Archives College Archivist Patricia Methven dip arch The College Archives include the administrative records of the College since 1828 certain faculty and departmental papers and papers relating to King's College Hospital 1837-1909 King's College School 1828-1910 King's College for Women 1878-1921 and the Strand School 1897-1913 All enquiries concerning the archives and conditions governing access to them should be addressed to the College Archivist Room 302 Strand Building Research workers who wish to consult material in the archives are requested to make previous appointment College Map Room Map Curator Tatham dip arch Established in 1976 the Map Room is on the Ground Floor of the Chesham Building In the well-equipped Map Room staff and students from any department may consult collection of nearly 70 000 maps over 200 atlases 1500 air photographs and number of books and periodicals on cartography and allied subjects In scope the topographic map collection covers the whole world the intensity of detail falling with distance from the College Geo- logical and other thematic cover follows similar distribution pattern The collection is maintained as reference collection and loans are not normally allowed although there are number of multiple copy sets for teaching and field-work
