General Information 83 Regulations Rules and Discipline The full text of College Regulations Rules and Disciplinary Pro- cedures is available in separate booklet Student Accommodation Students in London live in wide variety of accommodation For some students the Hall of Residence with its own social life is the ideal place to live while others prefer to live more independently in flats or 'lodg- ings' As flats are not easy to find new students who will not be living at home are advised to seek accommodation in Hall or at addresses provided by the University of London or College Accommodation Offices Students with dependent families are advised not to bring them to London until they have found somewhere suitable for them to live King's College now has an Accommodation Officer who is located on the first floor of the Macadam Building and can advise students on the various types of accommodation available Apart from handling applications to Halls of Residence and the Half Moon Lane Student Houses the Accommodation Officer provides comprehensive lists of private accommodation hostels and agencies and also manages 'short-life' housing scheme Students are encouraged to consult the Accommodation Officer on any matters concerning the landlord tenant situation sharing difficulties and housing benefits or if they are unhappy in their accommodation for any reason King's College has three Halls of Residence all offering accom- modation to both men and women Students are also eligible to apply to the University Intercollegiate Halls and are advised to do so in order to increase their chances of obtaining place KING'S COLLEGE HALLS OF RESIDENCE These halls have common application form which is sent out to prospective students with their offer of place on course The completed form should be returned to the Accommodation Officer by 31st May if possible and places will be allocated after that date Continuing students of the College are requested to apply for Hall for the following session via the Accommodation Office during the preceding Lent term
