Sketch of the Development of King's College 27 Council of the College consists of three Faculties Clinical Medicine Clinical Dentistry and Basic Medical Sciences The Pre-Clinical courses are taught on the College's main site at the Strand Clinical training in both Medicine and Dentistry is given at the School's premises at Denmark Hill SE5 in close association with King's College Hospital The College is to merge in 1985 with Queen Elizabeth and Chelsea Colleges to form single School of the University of London The combined College will have some 500 students and over 500 full- time academic staff To the broad spectrum of disciplines in Arts and Sciences which have characterised King's College will be added the contribution of Queen Elizabeth College in the Physical and Biological Sciences and particularly in the fields of Nutrition and Food Science and of Chelsea College in wide range of scientific subjects including Pharmacy Nursing Studies and Science and Mathematics Education It is expected that the combined College will initially operate on several sites but the number will be progressively reduced The ultimate aim is single campus for the whole College
