178 Library Facilities Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives The Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives serves as depository for papers still in private hands which bear on Britain's defence policy since 1900 and her strategy in the two world wars The Centre forms part of the College Library and is administered under the supervision of body of Trustees set up by the University of London The collec- tion is described in King's College London Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives Consolidated list of accessions 1981 £2 50 Library Manuscripts This collection reflects the work and interests of individual members of the College and includes both private papers and wide variety of material of literary historic and scientific interest presented to the College since its foundation Certain material predates 1828 The Library Manuscripts collection is described in King's College London Manuscripts and private papers select guide 1982 £1 00 Service to Readers Enquiries The assistance of Library staff is available in any of the reading rooms If Library Assistant cannot answer your enquiry it will be referred to the Assistant Librarian who is the subject specialist in the area The Library staff are there to help Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance Library Tours Library Instruction Library tours and instruction are provided for most new students in the reading room they will be using most frequently Other tours and instruction can be arranged on request Inter-Library Loans Books and periodicals not in the College Library can usually be borrowed from another library or photocopy supplied Application should be made to the 1st floor reading room enquiry desk Computer Information Retrieval Service The Library has the facilities to carry out on-line computer searching of bibliographic data bases for members of the College The range of data-bases is wide and although many have been developed in the
