Faculty of Clinical Medicine University-Based Examinations of Final in Pathology Part IV Medicine Part Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Part VI Surgery Part VII and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Part VIII The aim of the clinical course is to present the theoretical and practical aspects of medicine as an integrated whole not as competing discip- lines and wide variety of teaching methods are used Great emphasis is placed on patient-based teaching on the wards and in outpatients and all students spend periods in residence "on call" thus enabling them to gradually take responsibility for their patients This residence is particularly valuable element of the course since it gives students the opportunity to see acute emergencies Postgraduate Courses Graduates are admitted to course leading to the Sc Degree in Nuclear Medicine and research students are accepted to register for the degrees of Phil or Ph Graduates of the University of London are also able to enter for the and degrees which are by thesis Full details are available in the University Regulations Postgraduates wishing to undertake research in the Faculty of Clinical Medicine are advised to write to the Head of the Department concerned
