172 Charter and Statutes Casual Vacancies 19 casual vacancy in the membership of body established by or under the Charter these Statutes or Regulations shall be filled as soon as convenient by the body which nominated elected or appointed the member whose place has become vacant member appointed to fill casual vacancy shall hold office only for the unexpired term of office of the member he replaces Transitional Provisions 20 The foregoing Statutes shall take effect as 60m the Appointed Day subject to the following transitional provisions Any person who immediately before the Appointed Day held an office in or was employed by- the Corporation of King's College London or the University for the purposes of University of London King's College shall continue in his office or employment as if he had been appointed thereto under the Charter and these Statutes and shall thereafter be governed in respect of his functions and terms of appointment by the provisions thereof The College from the Appointed Day shall have until they are varied or replaced under these Statutes the same Faculties Departments Schools and other academic organisations and until their appointment is deter- mined by the Council or the Academic Board as the case may be the same committees and sub-committees as were established in the Theo- logical Department and University of London King's College im- mediately prior thereto The persons who immediately before the Appointed Day were members of the bodies known respectively as the Delegacy of University of London King's College and the Council of King's College London shall from the Appointed Day until immediately before the first meeting of the Council together constitute the Council as if they had been appointed in the terms of the Charter and these Statutes The persons who immediately before the Appointed Day were members of the bodies known respectively as the Professorial Board of University of London King's College and the Theological Professorial Board of King's College London shall from the Appointed Day until immediately before the first meeting of the Academic Board together constitute the Academic Board as if they had been appointed in the terms of the Charter and these Statutes The society known immediately before the Appointed Day as the students' union society of King's College London 'the existing students' union' shall on the Appointed Day continue with the same name as the students' union society of the College and those persons who were officers of the existing students' union immediately before the Appointed Day shall continue thereafter as officers of the students' union society of the College for the unexpired periods commencing with the Appointed Day of the terms for which they were originally elected Provided that-
