124 Faculties and Courses of Study The degree of Sc is awarded not on thesis but on the merits 01 original published work not done under direction and no course is prescribed DIPLOMAS POWDER TECHNOLOGY This course which is provided in the Faculty of Engineering and covers one session may be followed by students who have taken first degree in Engineering Physics Chemistry or certain other approved branches of applied science The course leads to the College Diploma in Powder Technology Particulars are given in separate leaflet THE POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION course in professional training extending over one session three terms is open to all men and women graduates of recognised univer- sities who are accepted by the Dean of the Faculty of Education Details are available on application to the Faculty and further in- formation is given on page 140 RESEARCH There are opportunities for research work other than for higher degree in all departments of the Faculty
