Faculties and Courses of Study ill phil ph and ll Intending candidates should refer to the University Regulations as above and consult the Dean of the Faculty candidate for registration for Phil or Ph degrees in Laws must have previously obtained the LL degree with first or upper second class honours or good LL degree of the University of London or an equivalent degree of another university The minimum period of study is two years In the case of the LL degree candidate must have previously obtained the LL Phil or the Ph degree in the Faculty of Laws as an internal student In exceptional circumstances candi- date who has obtained the LL degree as an internal student may be exempted from this requirement on the ground of published work Candidates must submit published papers or books constituting an original contribution to the advancement of legal knowledge Exemptions BAR EXAMINATIONS The LL degree entitles the holder to exemption from the Common Professional Examination Part formerly Part of the Bar examina- tions ARTICLED CLERKS The LL degree exempts articled clerks from the Common Profes- sional Examination Part formerly Part of die Law Society's Qualifying examination
