104 General Information King's College London Association President His Honour Judge Edward Clarke Chairman Edwards sc eng Hon Treasurer McCormack Hon Secretary Î’ Dawson sc ph Membership is open to all past students who have been members of the College for at least three terms and registered students who satisfactorily complete an approved course for degree diploma or certificate of the University of London are automatically entitled to membership on leaving College All past and present members of the academic staff may also become members number of functions is arranged during the year These include College reception for old students and an annual dinner Members receive an annual magazine containing articles of interest by past students or members of the staff college news and news of members Details of Commemoration Week and other functions in College which are open to the Association are also circulated and Register of members published There are also separate Engineering Laws and Chemistry branches Further information may be obtained from the Registrar's Office King's College Strand WC2R 2LS University of London Facilities The following facilities provided by the University of London are also available to students of the College The University Library see page 170 University of London Union The Union provides for social cultural and athletic activities of University of London students at university level supplementing the facilities provided in the college union societies It fields representative teams in various branches of sport and awards the University of London 'Purple' the Union encourages keen and friendly rivalry between the colleges of the University by arranging an intercollegiate debating competition one-act play festival and the various cup competitions leagues and tournaments in all branches of sport The University Union building in Malet Street is open to members of the Union It contains offices refectory open for luncheon tea and supper an assembly hall and stage swimming pool gymnasium badminton and squash courts lounges and bar library and rooms for television music billiards and table tennis
