138 Faculties and Courses of Study Milligan ph oxford Tonge sc Southampton phil Sussex ph london For names of senior technical staff see pages 73-74 The Medical faculty of King's College is fortunate in being part of an institution in which seven other faculties are represented The associ- ation of students of Medicine and Dentistry with students from these other faculties is one of the major advantages afforded by beginning Medical Education at King's College Intending students should apply to one of the Medical Schools listed below and not directly to King's College The Medical Faculty provides courses for students reading for both Medical and Dental degrees and includes provision for students to read for an intercalated Sc degree The courses for Medical students cover Basic Medical Sciences and Pharmacology corresponding to Parts II and III of the course for which the College has adopted school-sponsored course extending over six terms with school-based examinations The course for Dental students prepares them for the second examination for Dental Surgery and extends over three or four terms Students who show promise in either the Medical or Dental courses are oifered the opportunity of studying in an intercalated course leading to Sc These courses are based on course unit structure and are undertaken prior to proceeding to their hospital medical school to undertake clinical studies Facilities are also available for post-graduate research and study in the Faculty of Medical Science Undergraduate Courses ADMISSION OF STUDENTS Details of the procedure to be followed by students seeking admission to undergraduate courses are given on page 79 The selection of candidates for admission to the Faculty of Medical Science of King's College is conducted in conjunction with the medical schools of its two associated hospitals King's College Hospital and Westminster Hospital Full conditions of entry are set out in the General Prospectus of Undergraduate Courses available from the Registrar
