lxxvi Annual Report of the Delegacy Geography External Examiner to the University of Wales and chair- man of London University Examining Board under Revised Regula- tions Dr Embleton acted as Visiting Examiner at Birkbeck College and University College as Moderator in Geography at Lanchester Polytechnic and as University Examiner in Geography at three London Colleges of Education Mr Lawrence continued as co-chairman of London University Examining Board under Revised Regulations Undergraduate field classes were held at Mojacar Spain Perpignan Birmingham Durham Exeter London Rogate and Swansea special intercollegiate field class for undergraduates graduates and staff was also held in Japan Several members of staff lectured to learned societies or attended major conferences as scientific representatives Professor Morgan was member of the Committee on Underdeveloped Areas and of the Landscape Research Group Committee Dr Yates was British Rep- resentative on the International Commission for Geographical Termin- ology Miss Coleman lectured to Section Ε of the British Association Meeting in Canterbury Dr Embleton attended the Seventh Meeting of the International Geographical Union Commission on Geomorpho- logical Mapping at Brno Czechoslovakia Dr Rose was member of the Council of the British Lichen Society of the Committee of the Hampshire Naturalist Trust and of the General Committee of the Field Studies Council and was also chairman of the New Forest Scientific Committee and Nature Conservancy He lectured to the Bristol Conference of the International Symposium of the Systematics Association and of the British Lichen Society Dr Brunsden was elected to the Council the Executive Committee and to the Organisa- tion and Development Committee of the Geographical Association for the annual conference of which he acted as honorary conference officer He became member of the Publications Sub-Committee of the was co-opted member of the Engineering Group Executive Committee of the Geological Society of London and became member of the Working Party on Terrain Evaluation and an organiser of the International Conference on Debris Flow Phenomena for the same society He acted as co-ordinator for the Nature Conservancy with regard to geomorphological inquiries concerning motorway con- struction in the South-East Dr Brunsden gave public lectures at the universities of Oxford London and Sheffield and lectured to the Geological Society of London Mr Lawrence attended the Tenth Anniversary Meeting of the Information Documentation Centre for
