liv Annual Report of the Delegacy Major General Sir Andrew Stuart given by his daughter and addi- tional papers of Major General Sir Frederick Maurice given by Lady Spears Lady Spears also deposited some papers of her husband Major General Sir Edward Spears The Trustees welcomed these and other valuable accessions to their resources and the College was further grateful for donation of Ā£1 000 from the Marc Fitch Fund towards the purchase price of the Liddell Hart collection Nineteen persons were reported to the Trustees as having been admitted to read papers in the Centre and approval had been given on behalf of the Trustees for the publication of two manuscripts in which use had been made of papers in the Centre Library Committee Professor Brown and Dr Davies were re-elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively of the Library Committee Dr Helen Hudson remained an ex-officio member of the Committee on her appointment as Dean of Students and the new post of Director of Central Library Services and Goldsmiths' Librarian of the University was to replace that of Director of the University Library in ex-officio membership when its first incumbent was in post It was also agreed that the academic-equivalent Library staff below the grade of Deputy Librarian be invited to nominate one of their number for appointment to membership of the Library Committee from October 1974 such provision being additional to the right of the Librarian to have in attendance at any meeting up to three other members of the senior Library staff who could contribute to the discussion of specific items on the agenda It was further agreed that the student membership should from October 1974 comprise two undergraduates and two post- graduates one of each category to be arts-based and the other science- based Staff The Librarian relinquished his post at King's on August 31st 1974 after sixteen years in office in order to take up the new post of Director of Central Library Services and Goldsmiths' Librarian in the University He had previously been appointed member of the Interim Library Resources Co-ordinating Committee of the University on the nomina- tion of the Collegiate Council and participated in the selection pro- cedure for the staff of the new Central Library Services organisation which would implement the policies of the ILRCC though it was not
