iv Annual Report of the Council Reverend Professor Mascall as Honorary Canon and Canon Theologian of Truro and of the conferment of the Title of Professor of the Law of Property on Dr Mellows The Council welcomed the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Ellison Bishop of London as its Acting Chairman in succession to the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Stopford Professor Κ Nash Professor Dunstan and Professor Simon were elected members of Council in November The staff of the Theological Department elected the Reverend Dr Huelin to be member of Council in place of the Reverend Coggins whose term of office had expired The Council nominated as student members of the Theological Committee for 1974-75 Mr Davies and Miss Evans The Council learned with regret that the Principal of the College Sir John Hackett intended to relinquish his office on July 31st 1975 and approved the setting up of Joint Advisory Committee with the Delegacy which would take consultations and offer advice to the Prime Minister on the appointment of his successor The Council heard with regret of the impending resignation as Librarian of Mr Garside on his appointment as Goldsmiths' Librarian from August 31st 1974 and agreed the membership of the Joint Com- mittee for the selection of his successor Council also learned of the resignation of the Reverend Leech and the Reverend Maycock from the staff of St Augustine's College Canterbury The Council learned with regret of the resignation from Council of Sir Ivison Macadam and directed that letter expressing appreciation of his wise counsel and effective support should be sent to Sir Ivison who had served as member of Council since 1957 JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE MURRAY REPORT The report of the Joint Committee of Council and Delegacy under the chairmanship of Sir Richard Way was received by the Council on February 28th 1974 and after full debate the Council resolved unani- mously 'that the report of the Joint Committee of Council and Delegacy be received and approved in principle' It was further pro- posed and resolved unanimously 'that this resolution of Council be conveyed to the Delegacy' The Council agreed to the setting up of Steering Committee under
