THE THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT of KING'S COLLEGE LONDON UNIVERSITY OF LONDON ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COUNCIL FOR THE SESSION 1973-74 presented to the COURT of the COLLEGE council and corporation The Council has met three times in joint session with the Theological Committee The Council learned with regret and deep sense of loss the news of the deaths of two distinguished Fellows of King's College on August 20th 1973 ofProfessorJ D'Silva Halliburton Professor of Physiology since 1959 and Assistant Principal for five years until his death two months before his retirement he had been member of Council since 1964 and on December 4th 1973 of the Very Reverend Walter Matthews former student and Dean and valued member of Council who from his undergraduate days until his death in his 93rd year had always held the College in the forefront of his interests and affections The Council heard with pleasure of the appointment as Suffragan Bishop of Ramsbury of the Right Reverend Neale who had been student in the Theological Department from 1951 to 1955 of the appointment as Dean of Westminster in succession to the Very Reverend Dr Abbott of the Very Reverend Carpenter ph former student in the Faculties of Arts and Theology and member of Council for many years of the appointment of the Very Reverend Weekes 1941 as Dean of Gibraltar of the appointment as Provost of Sheffield of the Very Reverend Curtis 1951 of the appointment of the Reverend Mallett 1950 as Chaplain General and of the appointment of the
