Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 231 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Head of the Department of Education shall have most distinguished himself in the practice and theory of teaching BLACKWELL PRIZE FOR TEACHING This award was founded in 1964 by friends and former pupils in memory of Mrs Blackwell member of the Department of Education from January 1936 and Director of Postgraduate Training from 1962 until her death on 29th September 1963 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student of the Department of Education who in the opinion of the Principal and the Head of the Department has shown most promise in the practice of teaching In circumstances of equal merit the prize may be divided The Prize of the value of approximately Ā£15 may be taken in the form of books or money provided that the award shall include one book fully bound and stamped with the College arms
