Studentships Scholarships Exhibitions Bursaries and Prizes 213 Applicants who may be registered at another School of the University of London must have attended course or courses equivalent to at least one course unit in ecological subjects at King's College Each session in which the Award is to be made the College will publish by the fifth week of the Lent Term list of approved ecological investigations Applicants will be required to select project from this list and to submit statement outlining their proposed approach to the project and an estimate of costs to be incurred Applications should be submitted to the Registrar not later than the last day of the Lent Term in the year in which an Award is to be offered It shall be condition of the Award that the successful applicant shall submit brief report on his completed project The Award will be made on the nomination of panel of four persons- the Heads of the Departments of Plant Sciences and of Zoology or their nominees and two nominees of the British Ecological Society CENTENARY SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES for Regulations see page 190 WOOLDRIDGE MEMORIAL AWARDS for Regulations see page 200 Postgraduate Awards TUTORIAL STUDENTSHIPS jor Regulations see page 187 WOOLDRIDGE MEMORIAL AWARDS for Regulations see page 200 LAYTON SCIENCE RESEARCH PRIZE Founded under the will of Charles Edward Layton former Associate and Member of the Council who left sum of money to assist such students as may in the opinion of the Principal after consultation with the Professorial staff give the best promise of aptitude and genius for original scientific work One or more Prizes to the value of Ā£100 each may be awarded annually The Prize is given for the best promise of aptitude and genius for original scientific work not merely according to success in passing examinations but according to the ability displayed in conducting investigations and solving practical problems and so worthy of encouragement in the public interest
