Faculties and Courses of Study 121 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Applicants must satisfy the following sets of conditions University General Requirements and Special Course Requirements in the Faculty of Arts In order to be qualified to commence course of study for degree in the Faculty of Arts in any London college an applicant must have satisfied the general requirements of the University for the procedure to be followed see General Information page 81 by means of subjects selected from the approved list of subjects drawn up by the University and set out in the Regulations Relating to University Entrance Require- ments obtainable from The Secretary University Entrance Require- ments Department Senate House London WC1E 7HU Applicants should note that subject gained in the examination for the Leaving Certificate of the Department of Education Eire or for the Scottish Higher Certificate is regarded as equivalent to pass at Ordinary level in the but that pass in the examination for the Scottish Certificate of Sixth Year Studies is accepted by the University as equivalent to pass at Advanced level The definition of pass at Ordinary level examinations taken in or after the summer of 1975 will he as grade Î’ or Course Requirements of King's College for Direct Entry to Degree Courses in Arts degree courses Classics passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject pass at Ordinary level in Greek is desirable but not essential Classics and Ancient History as for Classics Classics and Classical Archaeology passes at Advanced level in Latin and Greek Latin and Classical Archaeology passes at Advanced level in Latin and one other subject English two passes at Advanced level one in English good Ad- vanced level qualification in major literary language classical or modern preferably the former is an advantage but candidates with other good qualifications will be considered Passes in two foreign languages one or both of which may be classical at least at Ordinary level are required
