General Information 97 charge or charges full and clear account of the established facts on which it was based the evidence given by each witness and the reasons for the decision reached both in respect of the question of guilt and in respect of the order made on the finding of guilt and shall state the grounds of the appeal vii The Appellate Committee shall have power to reverse or modify the decision appealed from in any way provided that it shall not be competent to impose any measure which is more severe than that imposed by the order appealed from viii The Appellate Committee may take into consideration fresh evidence which could not have been made available at the hearing appealed from ix The decision of the Appellate Committee shall be final except that where an appeal has been rejected the Principal may in his discretion order that the proceedings shall be reopened Clerk of the Hearing and Appellate Committees The procedure of the Hearing Committee shall be in accordance with the document entitled 'Hearing Committee Procedure' Clerk of the Hearing and Appellate Committees shall be appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Laws for one year the appointment to be renewable The Clerk shall be responsible for the observance of the Rules during hearings 10 Representation student against whom charge is heard by the Hearing Committee or the Appellate Committee may be represented by fellow-student of the College or by member of the staff of his own choosing The case against student will be presented by member of the staff nominated by the Principal Each side will inform the Chairman of the Hearing or Appellate Committee of the names of such persons appearing 11 Disposal of the Case The Hearing Committee and in the case of an appeal the Appellate Committee is responsible for finding whether the charge against student is proved and also if they so find for deciding what measures should be taken in respect of it Decisions shall be taken by majority In case of tie the Chairman shall have casting vote Decisions shall be announced by the Chairman The Hearing Committee and the Appellate Committee may order any one or more of the following measures Warning Reprimand Temporary suspension for stated period Such suspension shall not be ordered so as to interfere with student's ability to take an examination unless the suspension renders him ineligible on the grounds of incomplete residence Expulsion Fine of sum not in excess of Ā£25 all of which shall be paid to charity not being King's College
