liv Annual Report of the Delegacy Mrs Dorothy Dallas was awarded grant of £3 500 from the Health Education Council Ltd for research and development of teaching materials for the education of pupils of average ability about sexually transmitted diseases She contributed to the Nuffield O-Level Biology Project's film loops series in which Movements of the Earth's Crust and Volcanoes were produced in collaboration with Professor Howie and members of the Geology department She tutored the course at Warwick University for handicapped students of the Open University and lectured at the University of Keele University College Swansea Chelsea College and Winchester and Portsmouth Colleges of Educa- tion Mr Hunt was elected as Deputy President of the Historical Association The work of the Mobile Recording Unit has continued to expand The library of recordings has grown considerably and apart from the essential contribution the Unit makes to the teaching of the Depart- ment it has stimulated increasing interest abroad Visitors and delega- tions have been received from the Italian Teacher's Centre in Milan the Social Science Department of the University of Melbourne the Ministry of Health in Israel the Japanese Association for Sex Education and the Health Department in Sydney In addition edited recordings have been sent overseas At home the work of the Unit has been used in numerous teachers' courses in different parts of the country new departure has been collaboration with film group in recording class- room experiments with short discussion films Services to the College include an increasing commitment to the distribution and recording of Channel television programmes The new distribution facilities in the Strand Block have enlarged opportuni- ties in this direction The Mobile Unit has also undergone major re-fit during the year FACULTY OF ENGINEERING Number of Students Sc Eng Part 86 Part Π 78 Part III 74 Postgraduate 77
